Hi all:D
Congrats to all new mummies:)
(TMI)
I'm 37+5 weeks for past couple of days been getting increased egg white discharge, which makes me feel a bit 'wet' down below. Anyone know if thats 'normal'?
Woke up with lower back today.
Saw the health visitor today and got given the red child health record book.0 -

So turns out I was definitely in labour on Sunday night, and our little girl Betsy made her appearance at 8:41 weighing 6lbs 6.5ozs
The birth couldn't have been any better, it was just how I wanted - in water, at home, no drugs, just a graze (no stitches)! Though I'd been having crampy twinges for a few days before, I'm counting labour as starting from when I had my show - so about 5 hours from then until she was born.
I'm feeling fine and we're getting used to life as a little family... Breastfeeding is harder than I thought, but the whole thing, including how wonderful OH has been is just so amazing I'm ok with the bf challenges. As WW said, taking it hour by hour seems to be the best way.
Anyway, I'll do a proper birth story soon and will try to pop back in when I've got a bit more time but I'd also like to say a huge thank you to everyone on here - it's been an absolute godsend to come on here and rant / moan / rave about things and you ladies have helped me in different ways more than you could imagine. Wishing you all the best for the rest of your pregnancies and I hope you have happy and safe deliveries of your little bundles of joy
Take care, BMx
Congratulations!Moving from the Wedding to the Pregnancy thread a little sooner than anticipated. We had decided to start trying on the basis it could take up to a year...turns out it was less than a week! The old woman who made up the wedding bed and sprinkled monkey nuts in it (dont ask) must have some magic powers.
We had confirmation on monday. Still too early for a scan yet, we are hoping to get one at the weekend. OH is away at the moment (mother is at very end stages of stomach cancer) so im not 100% sure what is going on tbh!
I am a kindergarten teacher so I believe I'm ready for fatherhood, but having skimmed through the thread its just dawned on me that I am in no way shape or form prepared for pregnancy :eek::eek:
Congratulations on being pregnant-fantastic to get pregnant so quickly too!yummymummy79 wrote: »Just a quicky to say that Eleanor Victoria arrived after a super speedy and rather intense exit with minimal pain relief at 11.59 last night, so we just made a 13/12/11 birthdate! She was a bit of a biggun at 8lb 10 as expected.
Will post full story later.
Wow another baby! Congratulations!
I am getting close to the top of the list now!!

Re Cheap Mothercare car seat I mentioned that I had ordered the other day...

It has arrived today and looks very good for the £29.00 inc deliverywe paid (delivery comes off during checkout). It normally retails at £59.99!!
Chuffed to bits looks good quality, hubby will have a play fitting it in the car at the weekend, It fixes using the seat belt so dont need to buy a base. Suitable from birth to 12-15 months, has carry handle which is what we wanted.
:money:
Thought would mention again as its such a bargain for those who are strapped for cash!
Its also made in France !!! not in the far east which surprised me.

Ok, so I'm trying to find a nightdress and dressing gown for hospital... Has anyone seen anything similar to this, but a bit cheaper? I don't think £32 is too bad, but if I can get something a bit cheaper I wouldn't mind...

Annabella. I've got that set and I really like it.
Mothercare have a good sale on at the minute. We went in today to take a mattress back and there was some lovely maternity nightwear. There was a lovely 3 piece set (trousers, BF vest and a top to go over that) and it was only £5. They only had it in size 8 though in mine
Also had packs of 2 BF nighties for £7.50, packs of 5 under bump knicks for £2 and various other bits.
I was very good and left the store with no baby stuff. OH says it's a miracle lol.. Xxx0 -

ThanksI'm going to go over to the store tomorrow and see what they've got there as I don't really want to pay £5 for delivery (and I can't order and collect in store from the Nottingham store...) So hopefully won't spend too much!
