On the subject of sick, all weekend i've felt weird- trying to work out whether it is lack of sleep (7-8 hours since Thursday), or just stress from work. Probably both!

Sitting with DSD explaining the finer points of Formula 1 now.... :)

Probably both as you have said Lirin. F1 was a bit of a dull race. I still can't believe half the races will be only be on Sky next season

I eventually bought a snowsuit the other day, went with my Dad and I ummed and ahhed between 2 and went with the one he liked best, and now I don't like it, will have to take it back! Grrr.

Gilly I seem to be unable to make the simplest decision at the mo :o It makes life so much more complicated, I am usually quite decisive.

Well I didn't get my cleaning done, but I did plant some bulbs in the garden since the weather is so mild today. I've been putting off doing it and figured this could be the last nice day we have for a while so I should get my finger out. The bending down nearly killed me though and I could hardly walk after, plus it gave me an intense headache :( It didn't help that all my organs feel like they have been crushed by bending, 3 hours later and they still feel sore and traumatised!

I'm off to make a Sunday dinner then I'm going to lounge on the sofa all night. I've got stuff to ebay and should get it done with being free listing this weekend, but I can't be bothered.

    Congrats Basscadette!

I'm annoyed, as DH's ex texted on Sat to ask if DSD had spoken to us about a school trip? No, she hadn't- we wouldn't even be picking her up for 8 hours at that point!
Ex said she'd been caught short, and needed money for DSD's trip next year- £80 due on Monday. DH transfers money every week into an account for DSD- ex spends it every week. None is saved. He asked if she needed help, could she not use the money he transferred a couple of days ago? She's already spent it.
Annoyed, as DSD now thinks she can't go unless DH pays, chat courtesty of the ex, and we've had no notice- £80 is a fair bit when I'm about to go on mat leave. We don't really have it, and ex has joined the gym recently, and is always buying DSD new clothes. DSD has stuff in her wardrobe with tags still on it, as she's never had a chance to wear it, tempted to ask ex if she could sell some of that to make the money up.
In fairness, she has never asked for extra money before, but DH reckons if she gets once, he will be asked again. Neither of us want to deny DSD the trip, but ex has no forward planning in regards to money, and spends as soon as she gets. Plus, I think it's very unfair she has told DSD and put the onus on DH to pay.

What do you think? I've said if DH wants, give her £20 or a nominal figure, and tell her it's all we can afford. I'd love to tell her to go jump, but it is a trip for DSD.

Can your hubby give her the money for the trip but tell her her wont be making the weekly payments until the £80 has been paid back or reduced from his normal payments. gives her some time to sell so bits etc

C-Section Option For All Women, Report Says

Interesting read, especially the comments after.

I could do with your opinions on C-section vs natural birth, mainly those who have had both, as I have the choice this time.

With DS I went into natural labour, went to hospital, did the pushing, forceps after epidural, the emergency C-section. He was 9lb4oz & they said I wouldn't have been able to naturally birth him anyway. I've never had this explained to me, but I take it as I have very small hips (size 6/8 when I've been skinny, don't get jealous my belly has never been under a 12/14, boobs 16, I look funny! This has been the case since 15) and possible a small width of my birthing canal?? I don't know.

I didn't know I was having a big baby, I'm not large 10stone at start of last pg, 11st at start of this one. (I'm 5'6") This time I get a growth scan in Nov and depending on results I can opt for C-section. I know these scans aren't always acurate, so some of the decision will be on how I feel.

I've seen alot of 9lb+ on here recently, so if we go with 9+ will result in emergency C-section anyway. But should I try & hold out for the natural experience? Is it worth the pain/stress/risk? I like the idea of quicker recovery, not so keen on everyones birth stories involving a 3rd degree tear!

I have already had a C-section, so already scarred, and I've kept my lady cave unbroken!

It's such a big decision & I REALLY need help deciding! Please!!

so what is everyone up to this evening?
  • Congratulations to all the new mums! However, i'm getting very nervous now being only 3rd on the list! With me having GD I've got an appointment at the hospital for a sweep this Thursday and they are also going to give me a date for induction incase the sweep doesn't work. So it may be that early next week I'll be a mum! It's really hard to get my head around! My life will be changed forever! Although it will be for the better!

Hope everyone is feeling ok and not too fed up.

oh how exciting Steph, the list has changed very quickly! it is a bit scary how fast we work our way to the top.

it seems to be that suddenly 5 or 6 people announce the births and come off the list in the matter of days
