Mimi_Arc_en_ciel wrote: »Hm . . Cereal bars are REALLY not good for you lol They're high in fat and sugar. A Kellogg's Rice Krispies bar contains 29% of its calories in the form of saturated fats, which can cause furring of the arteries, and a Mars Tracker banana bar had 43% of its calories from fat.
Flapjacks contrain hydrogenated oils, E numbers and refined sugars (and i cant be bothered to make my own lol)
Im not sure that i'd be worrying about the fat content if its a one off for labour day(s). MW said to pack cereal bars and lots of sweets, for ready energy.
I think its the only time when women are encouraged to each sugary things!:jProud mummy to a beautiful baby girl born 22/12/11 :j0 -
Kira, DH is defo in the wrong, not you! If something is wrong then why should you both take time off, its better for you to do what you did and if needed for him to leave work after having repeatedly checked up on you through the day.
Mimi, I will only buy in revenge if we can afford it, but DH dreads my revenge shopping trips as they can add up very very very quickly and over the slightest thing. You would think he would have learnt after 4 years together and numerous handbags that this is how i work0 -

Thanks hon. I know i was probably being a bit irrational and over sensitive about it, but was starting to think i was being unreasonable to have expected SOME degree of interest. Seems daft to me that he is going to stay home from work any day there is an inkling of something wrong/happening. He is going to end up not going in at all whilst waiting for labour to start!Married 13/03/10 #1 DD born 13/01/12!!

Not necessarily - I had a thyroidectomy so cant process food correctly - I get light headed and dizzy if i eat too much fat and sugar - in the past this has caused me to pass out. Not obviously what I want to be doing during labour. Wanting to eat healthy isnt always about losing weight (I assume this is why you thought I was asking about healthy snacks? should never assume) - I can guarantee if my MW suggested I eat sweets and sugar etc then the endocrinologist consultant would be the first one jumping down her neck. There are other way's of maintaining energy through labour - eating junk food to get a quick fix is just one of them and isnt suitable for everyone. And yes, eating junk food for one day WOULD (in my case) make a difference.0 -

which is fine for you . . . but not for others . . like i said - this isnt a weight thing. Yes fair enough, it would be nice to stuff myself with sugar and sweets and biscuits . . . but trust me, its REALLY not worth the symptoms I suffer for days afterwards lol

Sorry didnt mean for it to seem i was nagging lol People always assume i eat the way i do because i'm trying to lose weight (I'm not a skinny mini despite what i eat lol)
On the plus side because of my thyroidectomy I get out of eat brussel sprouts at christmas - They contain goitrogens which is bad for me lol unfortunatley - goitrogens is also found in strawberries, which i (used) to loveso cant even snack on them lol
