I'm gonna have a go at knitting that hat in a minute, before I go to work!
I've got a blood pressure appointment today (spent most of the weekend in hospital due to high blood pressure). Hopefully it won't be too high! (Although the dullness of sound in my right ear tells me otherwise).0 -
Morning. Well the couch didn't work out, plus my female cat kept trying to jump on me Haha, so slept in the bed from around 2:45am. At least I can try and sleep when I want to today.
Hope everyone had a good night. Hope your cold clears up Camnolliesmummy!DFD February 2012

Does anyone else have bump spacial awareness issues, my DH and best friend have been hitting against my stomach much more recently, which is ouchies!
My friend gave me a crib with a mattress yesterday, her daughter spent about 3 nights in it, as she has been cosleeping (and breast feeding - 14 months old! - which seems a long time to me). It looks spotless and has a zip off washable/waterproof cover. Should I get a new mattress? I wouldn't event be tempted if anyone else gave it to me as she cleans obsessively.
Mozzy, Gilly & Anna, I still mostly sleep on my right (naughty) but I get pain in my knee and my leg goes ever so slightly numb. I keep worrying my old knee injury is coming back with my increased weight, but it seems ok during the day. Luckily in the next few weeks this should get better, then we won't sleep through compulsive checking paranoia, breastfeeding and crying:ANeeding to save all the money, lots of MSE learning still to do

Morning all,
What a weird night - slept ok ish but kept waking up all the time, weird dreams, and leg ache and cramp and at least 5 trips to the toilet, don't feel too bad this morning but could deffo do with a full, good nights kip, and yes I know - it just gets worse lol.
I am really finding getting up for work and getting out of the house at the moment to be really really hard work, just don't have the motivation at all - 8 weeks and 3 days left at work (not including a week off in the middle of all that) and I canot wait.
I know you have all been talking about wipes - well a friend of mine who has a small baby and has had 3 more says to expect to use about 2 packs a week, so because me and OH are stocking up for a year as much as we can we are going to aim for 104 packs - we have 48 so far, so after pay day will be making another significant addition to that. The idea is that we get a stockpile of a years worth of everything we can, and then the weekly shopping whilst we lose my salary will be a bit better. The only thing that I am confusing myself with is nappies - I mean how do you stock up on something that comes in sizes when you don't know the size, so theory so far is to get very few size 1's and a few more size 2's, but to really pile up on 3,s and 4's. Having said that - someone did say to get savings stamps for the supermarket of choice and that would work the same!
To a degree we have done it with clothes too - you know 14 of each size baby grow etc, which hasn't been hard as my sisters keep buying pink things (if she comes out blue - we will have a very feminine boy for a year) lol.
Anyway - suppose I better get on, been at work for an hour and only really looked on here!! x x xMarried the Man of my dreams 30/08/2008Baby No.1 arrived 04/04/2012, gorgeous little girl after 4 years of fertility issues!!:j:T0 -
But Tesco is a better deal in the long run then, as you get 3 packs for £1.48, when Asda would work out £2 for 3 packs. I am pretty sure that I will need more wipes than a couple of packs, so i can get them now for less than 50p a pack, instead of getting a few free and then having to buy them again later at a higher price. Or am I missing something?
Thats what I was planning on doing Gin.The bladder pain is the worst. It aches when I need to go. The minute I stand up, I feel such pressure down there. So strange!
I have this ALOT and I'm not 26 weeks yet!!
DH got the printer down from the loft for me so I've printed a load of coupons and I'm doing the rounds of the supermarkets tonight!
Have been awake half the night too, think a fox was barking outside in the field and woke me up with a start and then I couldn't get back to sleep. Ended up in the spare room reading then managed to get back to sleep for an hour before I had to get up for work.
Going shopping to York with my mum on Saturday, anyone know of any good shops for baby stuff? I went to Uni in York so know may way around the city centre quite well but back then I wasn't remotely interested in babies lol!0 -
Ro really hope you are having mummy cuddles, will miss you on this thread as you have been so kind xxx
4annabella, that's a lovely bump pic xxxx
Morning ladies n bumps, hope today is a good un for us all xxx#JusticeForGrenfell0 -
Re crib mattress: I probably wouldn't get a new one, but that is me. If it was used for 3 nights only, I don't see any problem with it...
I am pretty I felt my first propper kick this morning - I was sleeping, and thought my cat decided to walk over me and sleep on my belly again (he used to do this all the time before I got pg). So, woke up looking for the cat, and there was no cat!!!!!
Right - my coupons are sorted, got the ASDA ones with me, so can stop on the way home in Asda near hear, get some boxes, then go home, cut out the vouchers and go for a next trip!Spring into Spring 2015 - 0.7/12lb0 -
Good morning ladies and bumps (and hopefully babies if anyone has had one last night!!)
A very good friend did the school run this morning for me, so no blacking out on the way home for me
Got midwife in a min. Not sure what they do at 34 week check?
Had a rubbish sleepMy hips r so bad, i didnt realise they could crack more than once in the space of rolling from side to back....7 times my right hip went, and then the pelvis crunched, then the left hip started as i rolled onto that side!! I now find it easier to go from laying on side, to sitting up, to then laying back down on the other side. Spend more time awake than asleep at night
DD3 woke me up at 5 am, and then sang nursery ryhmes to herself until 6.30 am, too cute to tell her off tho!!
Feels nice to be able to say "less than 6 weeks" now tho, seems alot nearer that way to the due date!!
Its so so so cold hereAltho i`m sure its the same everywhere today! -5 atm tho
xx

No, you don't need to fast Gops... 28 week bloods are just to check your iron levels again, that sort of thing. A GTT is different.
I've just finished my little hat... Sorry if the picture is massive, they seem to come up big when I post from my phone... But it's just so cute I wanted to share... I'm going to knit one in red and put green leaves on it so it looks like a strawberry...
i love that hat, i was going to ask for a pattern when i quoted the post but i see you have done it.It's not online but will share, it's really easy...
Gops - this is the first thing I have knitted that isn't a square or rectangle :rotfl:, the shaping bit is dead easy, you're just decreasing stitches by knitting two stitches together. I bet if you gave it a go you'd manage it fine.
This pattern is for a hat for a circumference of 38cm. By the looks of it, it's a bit big for a newborn but I'm not too sure to be honest. The recommended wool is Debbie Bliss Baby Cashmerino. I've used a baby 4 ply yarn and it seems to have turned out fine.
With 3mm (no. 11) needles cast on 91 stitches. Beginning with a K row, work 8 rows in stocking stitch (knit one row, purl one row). Change to 3.75mm (no. 9) needles. Continue in eyelet pattern as follows:
1st row (RS): K to end
2nd row (and following WS rows): P to end
3rd row: *K5, yfwd, k2tog, rep from * to end
5th row: K to end
7th row: K2, *yfwd, k2tog, k5, rep from * ending last rep, K3
8th row: P to end.
Continue in pattern until work measures 12cm from 4th row worked on roll edge, ending with a 2nd or 6th pattern row (for me this ended up being four full repetitions of the 8 rows then to the 6th row on the fifth repetition, was exactly 12cm)
To shape the crown:
1st row: K1, (k2tog, K4) 15 times - will reduce to 76 stitches
2nd row (and following alternate rows): P to end
3rd row: K1, (k2tog, k3), 15 times - 61 stitches
5th row: K1, (k2tog, k2) 15 times - 46 stitches
7th row: K1, (k2tog, K1) 15 times - 31 stitches
9th row: K1, (k2tog) 15 times - 16 stitches
11th row: (k2tog) to end - 8 stitches.
Cut off yarn, leaving a long end. Thread through the last 8 stitches, pull tight and fasten off securely.
For the stalk:
On 3mm (no. 11) needles cast on 6 stitches, work 6 rows in stocking stitch, cast off.
To make up:
Join back seam on hat. Join cast on and cast off edges of stalk and attach stalk to top of hat.
Hope that makes sense for anyone who wants to try it. Let me know if not...
thanks for posting the pattern i will have a try at this today, i am going to do a yellow one then a red one with a green tipDoes anyone else have bump spacial awareness issues, my DH and best friend have been hitting against my stomach much more recently, which is ouchies!

14 months to me seems quite a long time, however my friend, who is due baby number 4 any day now co sleeps with all of her little ones (not the eldest because he is 8) she still tandem feeds her 2 little ones and intends to tandem feed the three of them when her baby is born, i find it a bit weird and like its her that cant let go more than the babies but i cant really judge her because it works for her.
i was convinced i am 24 weeks today but i joined the pampers baby club and there calculator says i am 23 weeks, time to work out some dates i think. I have the midwife on friday at the hospital and will be having my steroids so i must be 24 weeks because thats when they wanted to do it.
omg it is so cold out I cant beleive its nearly feb and we are only just getting the freezing weather, i hope it dosent snow.0
