Urgh I have done nothing today except sit on the sofa in my dressing gown and knit... Am making a hat and it seems to be working out ok though which is nice! First time I've attempted something that involves increasing/decreasing stitches... I'm a bit of a novice.

Anyway... 3.20 and I haven't had any lunch... I should probably do something about that...

Hope Kira is getting on ok, and good luck crabapple! And *redhead* too, if the pains are actually things starting!

Hi ladies and bumps, I am moving up from the 12-24 week thread :)

My V day was Christmas day so Im 26+5 today but I ve been poorly with a chest infection since Christmas and just havnt got round to logging on. I ve missed hearing how everyone is doing!

Have read back a bit to catch up. Its scary being on the big grown up thread but exciting at the same time. Good luck to Kira and Crabapple :)

Laura Im so pleased to hear that all looks ok for you xx

Has anyone got any tips to clear a blocked ear?? I ve got congestion from my cold and cannot hear out of my left ear. Its like being in a bubble! I ve been like it for 2 days and its driving me nuts! Normally id take decongestant but the pharamasist couldnt give me anything so Im feeling very sorry for myself today!! Roll on 5pm when I can go home and snuggle up under my duvet!

Also, can anyone point me in the direction of the comfot/persil voucher mentioned a few pages back? I cant seem to find it and want to stock up on things like this before we have to swap my income for maternity pay!! Eek!

    Best wishes to everyone xxx

Has anyone tried huggies soft sheets? Bought a few packs which were reduced in tescos. They are meant to be a good alternative to cotton wool and you can us them wet or dry, with cream etc. Packed a pack in my hospital bag to try:)

Good luck Crabapple, hope it's an easy labour. Mummy cuddles for you in the next day or two :D

Great news on the bloods Laura, must be a huge relief.

The OBEM disney couple - ARGH! If he used the word perfect one more time while all I could focus on was the fact he had pretentious hair and I could see his pink undies I might have screamed!

Having a pregnancy brain day today. Had nightmares all night so woke up crying and feeling very unrested. Since then I burst out crying as I couldn't remember my phone pin (the same pin it's been for about 10 years!), couldn't find the landline handset as it turns out I'd put it in the bin, neatly chopped all my breakfast fruit and just threw it straight in the bin and managed to utterly cremate my lunch. I'd say I need to go back to bed but I'm scared the nightmares will continue.

Icey I'd ask the hotel how much notice you need to give to just go to the day do? I'd wait as long as possible to book it, make your friend aware you're hoping to go, but try to book it as near as you can as you may have an inkling if your LO is coming early or not, and if you feel up to it. I wouldn't entertain going away overnight especially as it doesn't sound like you'd miss out on much, but if you could just go for the spa part and enjoy that with your friends that might be nice. The nails and things might make you feel a bit less whale like too! My best friend is having a big 25th birthday weekend away (baby that she is!) but it's at an outdoor activity place 2 weeks before I'm due, with gorge walking, caving and canoeing - I've politely apologised as if I make it that far with my bp I'd be 38 weeks and the idea of me going caving makes me crack up! I'm going to book the two of us a spa day/night away somewhere for the autumn as a surpise for her - give DH the comfort of knowing I trust him with the baby, without being too terifying for me to leave it for too long.

I don't know how long they leave you around here to go over but it must be a while, a few years ago (more than that I supose as I was still at school! So 10 years ago ish) one of my friends teachers went 24 days overdue and the placenta failed and the baby died, I have to hope they changed their policies in light of this as it's appauling that could have been allowed to happen.

Does frozen milk taste okay? I've frozen cream before but it comes out all seperated so I'd only use it for cooking not for whipping and using as is if that makes sense.

I thought 135/80 was pretty good Gilly since ideal is supposed to be 125/85, the top number is very affected by stress but the bottom one is the one they want to keep down so I think they're being very cautious with you which I suppose is better than being lax. Mine was 140/101 this morning which is where it's been running for 7 weeks now and they don't seem overly bothered as my urine is fine.

Is there another NCT class in the area Lisa? We have 3 different groups within a 20 minute area, and one of those runs at 3 sites, so a lot of choice for a fairly suburban/rural area. That said they've told me I'll be too early to go to the one in my town and suggested I go to the one 15 miles away that is 3 weeks later. I really don't 3 weeks is going to make all that much difference!

Pharmacists just make it up as they go along I'm sure. I had a cold over Christmas and they told me Vicks was fine, as well as those nasal sticks so long as it was the kiddie one which is just smelly material rather than the one you actually spray up your nose. They also said I could have strepsils so long as they weren't 'extra' ones, and any kind of generic soother type sweets.
