am I going to lose all my saved text messages?
I still use an old SE K750i as it works fine. Vodafone sent me a new SIM as mine is old and certain voicemail messages are taking 3 days to arrive. I am going to lose my old saved MMS and text messages as can't see any way to transfer them to the phone or to my mac. I don't think my old phone syncs with a mac and I don't have a usb cable for it anyhow.
Is there anything I can do or must I just lose the messages? I haven't activated the new SIM yet and would like to know before I do so. thanks

they should be saved to your phone, not your sim0

The sim can hold a max of 10 texts if its that old, and may have none of them. MMS's are always stored on the phone, the amount of memory on the sim is tiny.0

I think the messages are saved in the phone, not in the sim.
I think you can buy a usb cable for about £1.
Also it has IR port for transferring files to some other phones and Bluetooth for transferring to phones/pc with Bluetooth.0 -
How many messages are we talking? I only ask because I read about a woman recently who had written down every text message she'd ever received in books. Not suggesting you write down hundreds but perhaps the important ones?0

I had an old K500 and there were programs to transfer data from it to a PC available on the Sony Ericsson website. Your phone probably has similar software available.

Excellent piece if free software.
I use it with android but you can also choose
Sony Ericsson at the setup.
Don't think there's a Mac version but you can run
it in one if the Windows virtual machines.
If you have Bluetooth on your phone and a
Bluetooth dongle you can backup all your texts
that way.0 -
thanks guys. I'm a bit stuck with the mac as SE confirmed there's no support available. I have decided to leave the new SIM changeover and activation until I am back from a week away and can access a mate's PC.
