Ryanair - do I have to pay additional air tax?

I booked a Ryanair flight four days after the announcement on increased air taxes was made (10th December).
I don't fly until 18th Feb, but according to the BBC, Ryanair will be turning people away at the airport who have not paid the extra tax in advance. As far as I can see, there is nothing on the website.
How do I know if I have to pay more air tax?
Has anyone who booked with Ryanair received an email providing them with instructions?
Thanks

Doesn't your booking show taxes charged (genuine question, haven't used Ryanair).0

It does (25.88 GBP Taxes,Fees & Charges - 3.68 GBP Aviation / WCHR Levy), but I don't know what the charges should have been, so I can't tell if I've paid the new rate or the old.
This was a return flight from Bournemouth to Glasgow Prestwick.0 -

APD was £5 per take-off from any UK airport, so should have been £10 in total before the increase, £20 after - maybe worth having a look at current flight prices to see if it gives a breakdown of all charges (would give you an idea of any handling at security charges at Bournmouth and Glasgow..?)0

Against our better judgement we are supposidly flying to Germany in March with this shower.
They fly from and to the airports best for our needs and Flights were £14 each at time of booking.
Now I read O'leary will be turning people away at the check in kiosk if they havent coughed up a fiver each for the Brown slush fund in advance.
But of course no means to do this via the website or e-mail.
He should stick to laying tarmac, but not at Bristol airport.0 -
I booked ages ago for a flight in March so realise that I will have to pay extra.
Has anyone actually had an email from Ryanair requesting the payment and explaining what to do next?0 -
I have filghts for mid Feb and there is nothing on the website to say if I need to pay, and call centres closed over the weekend.
To call Ryanair use 1899.com or similar use the call centre in ireland at

I booked in September and am flying on Feb 2nd. I have checked my email account and nothing from Ryanair. I have also logged into my booking on the website to find out if they have added a bill for the tax or something. Nothing there. I also checked their website news section and nothing on that either. I might leave it a week and check then to see if there is an update. Don't plan to call their ripoff phone line.0

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: i could not agree more , this guy needs a serious public humiliation like a sticky custard pie right in his arrogant face.
do Ryan air look for ways to kick people off flights after they have taken their money?.
why cannot they just collect the money when you check in ???. here is the probable answer. they pay their staff so little and treat them so bad they don,t trust them with cash.
will never fly with them even if they are the last airline on the planet.. how do you like them apples boyo
Better in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:0 -
booked my flight last september.
I am flying out on the 23rd jan.
Nothing in my email.0
