I sure at one point I had more toys in blackbags in my room than my son did... slowly but surely he got one back...was easier than taking one away for bad behaviour.. banshee still comes back but so do black bags
saying that he had simmered down for now.......prob will reappear now I have said that!!!
gotta love em!0 -
We have screaming banshees in our house, when that doesn't work it's swiftly followed by the 'banging about monster'-eventually followed by quiet compliance.

I've worked out that the 'tidy your room' tantrum lasts one and a half times as long as the actual tidying of the room (and that's a long time as the children have inherited my haphazard style!)0

I have them living here too especially when "tidy your bedroom" or "do your homework" is mentioned.
My 4 year old has just started school and is having tantrums on an evening as she's tired, which is understandable and I expected her to. She was just twisting on now as my eldest won't play her immediately as he is washing the dishes. I calmly said "it sounds like someone needs an early night" and she went bright red and screamed "it's not me and I'm NOT having a tantrum!" Errrrmmm ok :rotfl:Here I go again on my own....0 -
I had an 8 yr old banshee in the boys bedroom earlier chucking stuff about-apparently that was MY fault because I made HIM need the toilet????!!!????
Why that is even a reason for a banshee to make an appearance I do not know  and how it is my fault he needs the toilet anyway????
Early nights needed all round in this house tonight lol0 -
 I wonder if this is the same banshee that threw the mother of all tantrums in my class today. I teach in a junior school. Glad to know these kids dont just save it all up for when they are in school.0

can't help with banshees but if anyone knows how to cure a bad case of Shoulder Slump-itis in a 7 year old let me know, seems to happen whenever we have to leave somewhere fun, whenever I point out anything not fun, and most chronically if I have a bash at constructive criticism..0

I dont think Shoulder Slumpitis is terminal unless accompanied by the Grunts or that strange noise that you need flipper to decipher.Little Person Number 4 Due March 2012

I dont have a banchee but I do have a mutterer. 'Its clean your room time!' is met with 'mumble mutter mumble mutter' and the 20 minute stair walk. 'Set the table' is also me with 'mutter mumble mutter' and the 20 minutes needed to extract himself from the sofa and walk to the next room. . . . actually thinking about it, I havent heard a word my son has said for a year or so now, with the exception of 'can I have my pocket money' which is always clear as a bell!SPC No 002 SPC(3) £285/£250 (4) £519.84/£500 (5) £768.32/£500 (6) £911.30/£600 (7) £913.23/£600 (8) £1184.82/£750 (9) £2864.04/£750 (10) £3846.25/£1000 (11) £1779.72/£1000 (12) £1596.55/£1000 (13) £1534.70/£1000 (14) £775.60/£1000 (15) £700.20/£1000 (16) £2081.34/£1000 (17) £1691.15/£1000 (18) £2470.95/£1000 (19) £0/£10000
