  • Thanks very much for these offers. I've only ever read The Constant Gardener and am keen to try the rest. Are the books any sort of series, would you recommned reading (or rather listening!) to them in any particular order?

    Thanks. :)

For those of you wondering about reading the books in chronological order and which are George Smiley one, I've pulled together a quick chronology and labelled the Smileys emoticon-smile-big.png and highlighted what we've had so far ....

Call for the Dead (1961) emoticon-smile-big.png
    A Murder of Quality (1962) emoticon-smile-big.png
The Spy Who Came in from the Cold (1963) emoticon-smile-big.png
A Small Town in Germany (1968)
The Naïve and Sentimental Lover (1971)
Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy (1974) emoticon-smile-big.png
    The Honourable Schoolboy (1977) emoticon-smile-big.png
    Smiley's People (1979) emoticon-smile-big.png
    The Little Drummer Girl (1983)
    A Perfect Spy (1986)
    The Russia House (1989)
    The Secret Pilgrim (1990) emoticon-smile-big.png
    The Night Manager (1993)
    Our Game (1995)
    The Tailor of Panama (1996)
    Single & Single (1999)
    The Constant Gardener (2001)
    Absolute Friends (2003)
    The Mission Song (2006)
    A Most Wanted Man (2008)
