Is there any particular reason you don't like discussing the fact that people who chose to buy years ago (when you chose to wait instead) have been benefiting from massive savings in comparison to tenants?

Yes. A very good reason. The timing game was the boring and predictable fall back position of the ebmittered 2 years ago.

I believe I already told you. My rent has not changed since 2009.
My rent has changed previously. So what?

What you can take from this discussion is that the blunt month to month UK averages don't actually mean all that much, and a little context and analysis is required, particularly before you choose to embark on jet another uninspired embittered little attack on your second favourite bear.

my rent was £1,600 2 years ago and it's still £1,600 now, so it's falling nicely in real terms.

of course then when i move out and it's put on the market for £2,000 we can all observe how sharply rents are rising.
