Paypal issue.

Options
Bought something a few weeks ago, from someone.

Paypal say the payment has bounced, however my bank says there is an outstanding authorisation for the amount.

Paypal have given both me and seller negative balances.

Seller isnt happy and wants item back. I have said after much reluctance to give the item back.

However whats my legal position on this?, he says he was told by paypal that he should report this to the police and they would furnish them with the relevent details

My bank say paypal have no timelimit to take this money

I did try and get the seller to wait and let me sort it out but he was getting rather arsey

He is however having to drive 50 miles to come and collect the item in a weeks time.

Sorry if this seems complicated but its doing my nut in.

Find an alternative way to pay, you have a week to do it. Can't really blame the seller as far as he is concerened he has been bumped.

But the point is my bank says there is an oustanding authorisation for the amount in question, say some kind of visa issue.

Can you put the amount needed into the bank to cover it, as I'm assuming that it was bounced due to not enough funds?
I'm not surprised the seller is getting arsey, I would be. I take it that it's an expensive item if he's willing to drive 50 miles to collect.
