Anyone increased FD credit limit?

Applied to FD, who I bank with, for a gold card last week for stoozing purposes. I asked what credit limit was and they said minimum of £3k, what did I want? Said I was looking for around £10k chancing my arm and they agreed without a moment's hesitation, leaving me kicking myself I hadn't said more.
Now am wondering about trying to get this increased but not sure if I'm pushing my luck.
I've been a full time mum for 2 years, but have banked with them for much longer than that, must be 10 years or so, and I'm not sure whether they realise that I'm no longer salaried. If I go for a credit limit increase, what is the likelihood they will ask me to confirm earnings, in which case I'd have to say nil, and then they might withdraw the offer of the £10k limit I've already got.
Should I just keep quiet and leave it as it is.
Hubby also applied and they've given him a £17k limit without asking him what he wanted.

So they do!
Thanks for that zcaprd7. I clicked on increase limit and it said that they could offer me another £7k immediately and to click on proceed and confirm!
Easy as that. I now have a £17k limit.
Blimey this stoozing thing is fun!! Scary how much money you can get your hands on if you have the inclination. No wonder people get into trouble with debt.0 -
The good thing about using FD is that it won't appear on your credit record, which is nice for getting more 0% deals...0

Ive also banked with first direct for years(customer service spot on!)when i applied for a gold card a few months back they offered a 22k limit, nearly four times the credit limits i was getting on other cards.. gob smacked!! Once the deal is over its definatly worth phoning up and getting one of there other cards (black/classic) for another 0% deal. Shame you have to pay back 3% though.si0

Is that right? I use FD as my main account and have just got one of their gold cards, haven't transferred anything onto it yet though cos I was worried it would show on my credit ref file that I was shifting debt around. But if this is true.... Fantastic! I've found this to be the case with Lloyds TSB as well, how handy :T0 -
Yep, HSBC as well...0

Bah humbug etc. Had an unsolicited credit limit increase from FD (from notalot to abitmore). Used it to do another balance transfer (still within my 0% period) and now find it has been charged as a cash advance. Grrrrrr - have secure emailed them and await response.0

I think you can only do one balance transfer to any card, once.
So if you did a transfer to the same card as before they'll treat it as a cash advance...0 -
Any experience from anyone of getting an FD credit card without having a current account with them? If yes, did you get a decent limit?
Many thanks
