I went through a phase of buying the cheapest meat. It stopped as soon as I ate some quality meat because it tasted much better. People can argue till the cows come home about whether organic or free range meat is better, kinder to the animals or just clever marketing etc etc etc, but round our way people queue up to pay top dollar to the butchers who sell it, because it tastes sooo good.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. One rather ironic thing, in a local supermarket that has since closed down (went by the name of Robert Greigs), they did ends of bacon. They were dead cheap, under £1 (Ok a few years ago) for a full size sunday joint, and they were packed with flavour. I have never tasted anything so tasty since and I have never seen another store that does the same cut. It is not always the more expensive meat the better! What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0

I do tell her that the local takeaways, will be using these cheaper indgredients, an she will quite happily eat them. Once they are covered in sauce you can't tell what it is !!
Oh yes you can! The texture gives it away. Bleugh! Definatly one of the things I'd pay extra for.0 -

The more expensive the meat, does not mean better quality.
Some good butchers dont need to hike the price of there produce up to sell it, the meat should sell itself.
We have a local butcher whose produce is second to none. His sirloin steaks are hung for 3 weeks and price is cheaper than most supermarkets.
As for other products, it stand to reason that most home brands or cheaper brands are produced in the same plant, after all there is only so many places to make theses goods, so they have to use the same plants.
Like tins of beans, they all use same beans, what you are buying is there sauce they use. Same with other foods. Some use fresh products to make there food and others freeze dried.
It all comes down to tasteMansion TV. Avoid at all cost's :j0 -
