Salad dressing -How do you make yours?

similar to redruby - but without the oil...
I use roughly equal parts of balsamic vinegar, runny honey and soy sauce. (It's nice heated as a sauce over steamed fish too)
Sometimes with mustard, sometimes notworking on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -
I tend to keep both white and red wine vinegar in the fridge with garlic in them. I use the white wine vinegar with wholegrain mustard, honey and olive oil as a potato salad dressing (adding to taste). The red wine goes with tomato juice and olive oil as a strong dressing for bean salads etc.
Also as a lentil salad dressing, lemon juice, sunflower oil, a little garlic red wine vinegar and oregano or basil is very nice...you can add sugar if you prefer it a little sweeter...0 -
Hi pink90,
There's an earlier thread that has some recipes that should help so I've added your post to it to keep all the suggestions together.

Easy peasy dressing that I make from scratch each time (fresher, and is so quick to make!):
general ratios are:
1/2 tsp runny honey
1 tsp balsamic vinegar
1 tbsp olive oil
salt and pepper to taste.
I generally make about 3 times this amount for two very greedy people.
Start by mixing the honey and the vinegar, that way the vinegar acts as a solvent for the honey. now mix in the olive oil and salt and pepper.
all done!
Delicious with avocadoes and toasted pine nuts over a leafy rocket salad.0 -
Heya
I like walnut oil and white wine vinegar (3 parts oil to 1 part vinegar) or olive oil, a teaspoon to dijon mustard and the juice of half a lemon (maybe a pinch of oregano)
