  • When I got my first overdraft they gave me £100 as an overdraft - I was earning £62.50/week at the time . It was the lowest they could offer me and I took it 'just incase' - I was in a flatshare and money was tight so it did make sense.

I had an overdraft of over £500 at one point with Halifax. I get DLA and LHA in my account only and they know it! I made them lower it back to £100 'just incase' I ever need it.

In over 4 years I have never gone into my overdraft. It is only there for emergencies - as it should be! I would rather have an overdraft than a cheque book as I keep track of my account with just the card and don't think I would be able to do the same with a cheque book as well :o.

My partner is always going into his overdraft . Thankfully his is really a no charge one so it isn't that big of a deal but I hate the fact that he does it. I spent ages getting his account into the black just for him to screw it up again! I thought I had got through to him that "just because that amount is in his account doesn't mean you have to spend it all" but no :wall:.
I am a vegan woman. My OH is a lovely omni guy :D
