  • Write a list of questions that you would expect like why do you want this job, tell us a time you dealt with a difficult person etc and write down your answers and say them out loud until you can say them clearly from memory. Ask a friend or family member to give you a mock interview and get them to highlight your good and bad points. If you play with your bag don't take one. Remember good eye contact, hand shake etc. There are suggestions of interview questions on line with appropriate answers. If you are sure of your answers it will help you get rid of your nerves.

I know a friend of mine failed it because they did a role play of a customer asking him where the houmous was, and he had no idea what houmous was! (Yes, really!) I think a lot of it is common sense and experience. Good luck!
  • Make sure you have very shine shoes :) All m&s staff seem to have great shoes

' <-- See that? It's called an apostrophe. It does not mean "hey, look out, here comes an S".

It has nothing to do with it Lexxx.. I have worked for M&S and not only is that a generalisation, its assuming you dont know how to dress for interview and doesnt in any way relate to your query. good luck.

  • Just wanted to say good luck for your interview. I know you say you're not very confident at interviewing but hopefully the fact that you've made it to interview will give you that boost you need - so many don't even make it to that stage!
  • I work for M&S and my role play was having to deal with a customer who had ordered a birthday cake that had not turned up!

Its all about customer service and taking ownership of the problem. M&S do not like staff to constantly run to managers!

    Good luck.
