Personally I love the idea of the meadow, that is something I have always wanted to do- a wilflife pond with plenty of wild flowers around it, but I'm not sure how you could get that to generate income.
Wild flower meadows need to be cut at a certain times of the year to encourage flowers. This has to be removed to reduce fertility so is ideal for hay.

Yes, I think this is the best offer, do not instal less than 10kW.

You do realise how much a solar system like that would cost? It wouldn't be 'free,' unless the land was leased to an energy company for a long period, with clauses tying you in. Anyway, it's getting a bit late; the best deals end next April and ther's planning, waiting lists...etc

I let my land on an informal basis to a local farmer. It's important to find someone trustworthy, so I took my time choosing him. He takes hay & grazes animals. In return, I get things he produces, including fuel. There's nothing for Mr HMRC to get excited about either! ;)

May be $ 20,000, I guess? But, there are vary favorable loans!

Sounds like you are in the US.

The British government is a bit embarrassed about the generosity of the payments agreed with farmers schemes over the last couple of years, so the feed in tariff will drop substantially next April. (from about 40p per kWh to around 8p, if my very faulty memory serves me well for a change!)

Anyway, the way things work in Britain, one can't just fill a field with solar panels without dealing with the dreaded Planning Authority.

  • Plant Leylandi around the perimeter and form a nudist colony with a nominal entrance fee and sale tea, coffee etc.

How frequently is that wild-flower cut?
Spring and Autumn. Details are in the link on my previous post.

The idea is to take grass and other growth away to reduce the competition for the flowers you want. Removing the cuttings reduces the fertility of the soil in the field which helps wild flowers thrive.

market garden charging market prices and not stupid garden centre prices...garden centres are the new church on sundays...
It is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.
