Company Gone into Admin

Options
Hi, I purchased a computer in June of last year from a company called mesh. I now have a fault with the computer and when i phoned customer service they said that mesh had gone into admin and a new company bought them over will honour my warranty but will still charge me for repairs. I have read on a few sites of people being ripped off by this repair service so will give that a miss. Is there anyway I can claim back the money I paid for the computer as it is faulty and they have broken terms with me as warranty is now void?

No you cant claim any monies back, The new company isn't liable for previous sales, outstanding orders or refunds, or warranties etc.

They will most likely keep mesh as a trading name only.
  • Hi,

This is how it should be done.

As you purchased the item last year June that means that you are 2/3 months over the 12 months warranty.

Nevertheless if you can prove that the fault should not have happened, then the repair must be done for free.
What component failed, what is the fault?

Except, you can't claim against a company who has gone bust.

    he clue is in this
"PC Peripherals will provide continuing hardware support to MESH customers with existing, live warranties."
you are out of the 12 months warranty so it is NOT a live warranty.

Mesh are no more so who are you going to claim against. PC Peripherals purchased the Mesh BRAND but not the company

Did you clarify what that means? if they're honouring the warranty then that says that they'll only charge for the standard chargeable repairs.

WHat is the fault ? Is it definitely hardware or could it be software ?
  • yeh it is definatley a hardware problem as i have done a factory reset and the problem still persists whereby it keeps crashing after about an hour of use, and it is a 3 year warranty, haha.

Ask them to explain why they want you to pay for a repair when they have agreed to honour the warranty. Then take it from there.
