recorded delivery

Options
hey
just wondering if anyone can tell me how long roughly recorded delivery might take ?
im waiting for delivery of a high value item, auction ended 08/09/11 and item was posted 13/09/11 when i look at the order details it says item was sent recorded delivery.
for such a high value item i would have expected really to have it already as most people would send special delivery - does recorded sometimes take a couple of days to come through ?
im just starting to get a little worried and im hoping it doesnt come to a dispute
thanks for reading :)

  • Recorded delivery is just standard frst class, no upgrade.

So as long as 1st class takes in your area.

Recorded is whatever class it was sent. It can be first or second, the recorded option is merely an addition to first or second class. Recorded is for a proof of delivery, nothing more.

It offers no more compensation than the standard first or second class, which currently is £46.

  • ive sent the seller a message asking for a tracking number although from reading on here about recorded delivery knowing the tracking number might not make much difference - how long would you wait before opening a dispute ?

As it was only posted two days ago I think you have a little wait yet, op.

It depends on whether your recorded delivery was with 1st or 2nd class but I'd at least give them till after the weekend.

They won't be able to raise the subject with the Royal Mail for a while. (can someone remind us, I think its something like 28 days or did I dream that?)

You certainly can't raise a dispute with the seller yet.

If you go into the item it should say at top 'see order details' and that will give you a rough idea of the date when you can expect it to be delivered.
  • yea it said i should expect delivery 14/08/09
i think maybe im just getting a bit worried because they went from selling alot of stuff in their ebay shop to only having 1 item for sale now and it just feels a bit odd
