mandyc, why not the clubs? would this look like i was trying to pull or something? or r they just mainly clubs for women/ and clubs for men? no mixed, if you know wot i am trying to say? thanks

Hi Mummy - you've got to go to Manchester....it is just the best place to go in England. People are really friendly and the nightlife is diverse. Loads of different types of bars, clubs etc. The thing about the clubs in gay village, I think they meant that you might see some sights you are not used to. However the gay village prob only has about 20% gay people go there. the rest are straight.

Shopping is fab. Loads of designer shops in the Triangle and St Ann's Square and King Street. Then you can go out of town to the Trafford Centre...it's bril.

Ibis hotel is in middle of town and dead cheap. Also Jury's is good but a little dearer.

You will love Manchester !!!

canal street is straight friendly but some of the clubs are difficult to get into particularly on a weekend if your not with a regular! some are male only but many of the bars like liquid etc are open til early hours anyway with a dance floor.
look out for nights at old boddington brewery of sankey soaps

As much as it pains me to say it,newcastle is a fantastic night out,York is brilliant as well,I'd say Edinburgh over Glasgow.I keep hearing good things about Leeds,but I comment as i've not been.

Leeds is a great night out- I have lived here for 10 years and love it

Another vote for York, great night out, friendly place, great shopping. Unless you are in a group of 20 lads avoid Hull!
