can i get a spending/withdrawal block on my account?

Options
i'm currently trying to pay off my student overdraft and i'm wondering if it's possible to get a spending/withdrawal limit placed on my account while i do that?

whenever i try and pay it off, i always go back into it when i'm a little short on funds, but i want to, if possible, put an actual block on it, so whilst it's there, i can't take it out of my account.

thanks

  • Unlikely, without having the account closed and converted into a loan/repayment plan.

    My suggestions:
    1. Cut up the card
    2. Shred the chequebook
    3. Lock yourself out of internet banking

These things should hopefully act as a deterrent to prevent you spending on the account!

    Ask your bank.

Personally I think self control is the best method.

They could actually mark the account 'no operations'.
