Ok, sorry if this is a stupid question, but are the prices released now likely to be the best prices? Are they likely to stay at these prices for long? Many thanks!

T-J - it depends on your intended location and time of travel.

Popular times to fly eg weekends do tend to be at their cheapest immediately on release and never get any cheaper.

Whereas midweek options can come and go, cheap on release, going up a little over time, then suddenly on promotional price again or just cheap because the load factor computer says 'fill the plane a bit faster'.

Also - this is July & August 2012 we're dealing with, EasyJet can't miraculously find much new capacity so in those 2 months there is a lot less likelihood of finding cheaper prices than on release.

Turning to location, it does depend on total seats flying to it plus demand. My destination is no longer served by Ryanair plus EasyJet also cut back on frequency of flights a year or so ago. Unsurprisingly, the EasyJet price has firmed up quite a bit over the last 18 months and we never seem to get the real bargain prices anymore. (Many the time with Ryanair when we flew return flights for some £20-30 all-in per head - ah the memories! :D)

I would say that for many if not most destinations it really does pay to get in as early as possible with EasyJet.
  • Many Thanks sirbrainy! Much appreciated :)
    :DPlease, pretty please!:D

Kicking myself a bit, I had neglected to get in early for my June 2012 half term flights (x4) and bought them today - £380.

Checked what I paid for roughly same 10 days this year - £260.

Scared to tell the better half :D:D:D:D:D

Shows the importance of getting in early.

If your better gives you hassle pass them the mouse and tell them to do it.
  • same flights same dates to Thessaloniki next July are double the price we paid this year. booked them on day of release too.

    Dissapointed!
  • Purchased 3 flights from Bristol to Ibiza for £470. They went up £60 as I was trying to book but still £300 cheaper than Thomson and Thomas Cook. Flight times not so good but the saving is worth the hassle.

Best year for us was two or three years ago, when 3 of us flew return to France in July and to Italy in August, total cost 12p.

(And they say nostalgia ain't what it used to be....)
    Hope is not a strategy.

Hi, thanks for posting this- thankfully I had booked my flights on the day of release, £556.00 for 4 from stansted to Malaga july 29th return on late 5th august- bargain. Can I just suggest though that you book through the nectar website becausew the luggage charges are only
£18.00 per 20kgs and I think the CC charges were cheaper than booking direct! HTH someone. Oh and anyone any idea where I can get cheap airport parking.

    TIA

Purple Parking are generally excellent value plus Quidco. Usually not much more to pay for the premium service where they have your car waiting for you literally a few steps away from the Arrivals hall - can save 30-45 mins and very useful if your flight gets back late-ish and you've got a drive ahead of you. We use them all the time at Heathrow but I see they serve Stansted as well as an intermediary - they offer STANSTED METEOR MEET & GREET for £65 (less 7.5% Quidco)
    • SAVE TIME WITH MEET & GREET.
    • You are met at the terminal by our chauffeur
    • Your car is then stored at our car park.
    • When you return your car is returned to you at the terminal.

I use the meet and greet at Stansted, you will never go back to the purple/pink elephant ages on a bus thingy.
You pull up at set down (by the flags) they take the car and u call once thu baggage on the way back and they bring the car downstairs.
So civilised and so much nicer/quicker, its worth paying a bit more for it but sometimes its cheaper than long stay!!

p.s Don't do park and refresh, its a con and you still have to get on that blasted bus!!!
