I want to cancel my contract giving 30 days notice, I'm out of contract. I was told I have to do it in writing posted to an address I've lost ( I decided to pac instead ) but last time I cancelled they accepted it by e-mail. Has this changed ? I'm waiting 2 weeks for my pac code ( lost in post ? ) and I'm getting fed up. If I just cancel to finially get rid, it would be easier to e-mail as my letter could get lost too. If I have to write, does anyone have the address ? I've signed up with 3 now so I just want it sorted. Thanks.

If you cancel before you PAC out then you lose your number.

I admit I haven't ported out off or two Vodafone, but my PAC has either been received by text message or email shortly after requesting.

You would be best chasing the PAC, once you port out your previous network service should be cancelled.

Cancelling if you go that route is usually best done by letter.
It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!

  • I've had Vodafone for a few years and always found them a nightmare when trying to cancel, usually just given up as feels like getting blood from a stone. Requested my PAC code last month and got sent to my old address where I haven't lived for 2 years!! I would of thought after 6 months of complaining that they were sending bills to old address but junk mail to correct address they would of got it sorted by now!! Received PAC this week and expires on Sunday! Department I need to speak to closed at weekends so need to call on Monday to go through the whole process again! Wish me luck!

    Thanks BexTech

The only way Vodafone will give me a pac code is by letter. I have to wait for it. The first one, they said they sent but I didn't receive it. So I'm waiting on a second now and it's late. They say 3 to 5 days but they have a New Year backlog. I've been waiting over two weeks now. I wanted to keep my old number but it's not that important that I'll just let it drag on and on.

Because the cancellation also apparently had to be by post, I wondered if this was their way of dragging it out or whether the person I spoke to just didn't know it was ok by e-mail. Last time I cancelled ( about 2 years ago ) e-mail was fine. Think I'll give it another week to see if the pac letter turns up.
  • When I called Vodafone yesterday they told me that as they sent mine to wrong address they would give me a new one over the phone on Monday so it may be worth calling them.

As soon as you transfer your number the contract will be cancelled so you don't need to send an extra cancellation letter.
