I keep seeing people saying that ram is easily and cheaply upgraded - can someone tell me how easy it is to do it...does the laptop need opening up or is it something you just plug in?? Sorry I'm clueless but desperate to save money so if I can do it myself I really want to! Currently got 2GB DDR3 RAM memory thanks0

In most modern laptops there is a panel on the underside with one or two small screws - undo and you should see the RAM slots- in some it may be a larger panel - there is usually another panel that holds the 2.5" hdd.
In older laptops, it is sometimes under the keyboard, obviously harder to get access to.
Google yr make/model and see if you can find the info you require.
Usually it is quite easy.0 -
do you know if you forfeit your warranty if you add more ram?0

No, it's considered a user upgradable part by most manufacturers.
On most modern laptops you just undo a couple of screws on the base, remove the small hatch and slot it in. 5 minute job. Your manual will show you how.No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
No, it's almost expected that people will do this - which is why the manufacturers just fit a flap with a screw 'on top of' the memory cards...0
