NTL?Telewest non direct debit

I called telewest today to see if I could get a reduction on the cost of our Broadband we are paying £25 for a 4mb connection, then the lady on the other side said yes we can drop your Broadband to 2mb for £17.99 for 3 months, but the non direct debit is going up to £5 this is outrageous we never shirk on paying on time never got a red bill, but yet they punish us for not having a non direct debit. Is this legal? or is there a way we can claw this money back??? or can we ask for a paying in slip.

All help accepted.....

Regards Jayne.

I have spoken with Telwest re this £5.00 charge prev £4.00 charge. I refuse to pay via DD as I hate giving comp by bank details. After a moan they agreed to take the fee off and now I see a credit of £4.00 which will now be £5.00 to cover this. I would suggest that you call Customer Services and make your feelings known, Another thing tell them that the account you have is an account that does not allow DD. Ok most people do have DD facility but what they donl't known wont harm them.

    Good Luck
