Many thanks for the comments, I have replied but havent heard anything from them since. I dont mind the item back, as long as they havent used it, IYGWIM. As for the negative comments, i got one before as i asked for payment and after a week they left - new item had tags on but used..... Was totally amazed but them read a few weeks later they had done the same feedback to others.
I have a few other items to sell, but because of these scammers I really wonder is it worth the hastle, maybe have to do a table top sale another weekend.
My rate of problems has been significantly higher at a car boot than on ebay- so be careful even doing a table top sale.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. There are always problems in any selling, from shoplifters to bad debts to eBay scammers. The problem for occasional sellers is that if it happens once in a handful of sales the impact is going to be greater than if a business from time to time has a problem which they have the skills to solve and the customer service nous to speak softly but carry a big stick. Many thanks for the comments, I have replied but havent heard anything from them since. Internet selling is such big business and so serious to the people who are forking over money that if you can't handle things going wrong then yes, it is going to be a hassle to sell things.
However, if you are prepared to look beyond the odd vindictive idiot out there, it shouldn't be too difficult in the long run. These people hit everyone, making the feedback they leave blend in to the site average and not wipe one person out single-handedly. eBay don't restrict on one poor rating; they've set the bar at three lows because that's an easy bar for most people to slip under if they just do everything by the book. It's the people who treat their customers poorly because of a single bad experience that make it difficult for everyone else.
I can't give you much more help than that - that's just meant to be the verbal equivalent of a hug."Well, it's election year, Bill, we'd rather people didn't exercise common sense..." - Jed Bartlet, The West Wing, season 4

Many thanks for the replys, I havent received any more emails from the buyer, so I will wait and see what happens. The other items I sold the same day all gave excellent feedback - so I suppose I just ahve to take it. I have however decided to only refund item cost, not any postage as long as the item is returned in the same condition that it was sent in...... After asking it in the first email - no response.

If she opens a claim then you will have to refund the original postage as well unfortunately.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
