in Water bills
Hey, complete newbie here.
Myself and my partner have moved into a one bed flat for uni (the first where I've paid all utilities seperate) and the water is estimated to be 311 for 12 months. (28.30 a month)
They apparently based this off the averages which are -
14 showers a week
5 toilet flushes each a day :think:
and 3 loads of washing in the machine a week.
I know you can get the meter read to get an accurate reading, as I know we don't use that much water, but how on earth would I arrange that? I know the meter is outside from when the landlord read it when we got the keys, but would I submit a reading at the end of the one year tenancy or what?
Thanks for your help!

Read the meter yourself whenever you like and give that reading to the water company, they can then work out your adc based on that.
Make sure they have a starting read and a final reading as well but maybe give them one at the start of a month and then one at the end and ask them to check the adc and payment plan against that.There is a race of men that don't fit in; A race that can't stand still;
So they break the hearts of kith and kin, and roam the world at will.

That sounds about right to me. I live on my own and pay £21 a month on a meter.
Don't forget you're also paying standing charges and not just what you use.0
