In that case, as I'm not familiar with petrol stations, is it possible that the delivery tanker had the wrong fuel?
Also, to the OP, if no other cars have complained, it may be that they have not figured out the problem yet. Or perhaps they already had enough diesel already in the tank to dilute the petrol that a problem hasn't developed yet (to any mechanics - is this possible?).0 -
The tank was almost empty when we put the diesel in and we put in 28 litres on fri the garage who are repairing it drained off just short of 28 litres of petrol on sat am !! Our mileage shows we only travelled 20 miles from collecting th3 car from the showroom!!0

If there was a wider problem of wrong fuel in the tanks you would have heard by now - plenty of cars would have filled up and been affected and it wouldn't take long to find owners posting about it.0

Ah - you only just took DELIVERY of the car and took it for it's FIRST EVER fill then?
Well either the dealer is at fault or the petrol station then...Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016
Thank you Honey Bear0 -
The dealer we bought it from had put 7 litre of diesel in n it had been driven approx 50 miles on that before we filled it he had given us his receipt which states his 7 litres of diesel on it!0

Then you have a stronger case against the petrol station, I would have thought; or the dealerDon't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily Dickinson

Hi everyone just to say trading standards rang me to say they had gone to test the diesel at morrisons but they had had another delivery on sat am so the sample they have is from that and so is ok! So I have no proof! Just hoping sum other complainants to come forward!0

To be honest, even if they had another delivery of diesel, the tank would have a mixture of fuels in it, it's very rare they run they completely empty.0
