fuel from morrisons
Hi has anyone had any problems with their diesel cars after buying diesel from morrisons killingworth north tyneside over the weekend of 9th September. We filled up on diesel there and our car broke down on fri night when the garage looked at our car its full of petrol! We have our receipt which states we bought diesel snd cctv. Footage which shows us using the diesel pump but morrisons ate saying there is nothing wrong with their fuel! In the meantime we now have ! Repair bill of approx 2k!

Maybe trading standards or who ever tests the dodgy fuel0

Trading standards went out on Monday and took 5 litres to test we are awaiting their results0

Maybe a letter to morrisons HO then once the results are back0

They are probably going by their pump records which show that you used a diesel pump. However, it is possible the delivery tanker may have put petrol into the underground diesel tanks, or that the tanker itself had the wrong fuel. D'oh!
Whatever the case, the Trading Standards test should give you a definitive answer, in which case you should be reimbursed.0 -
How can Morrisons deny it if there is cctv?
I worked at Sainsburys and it was impossible to fill a tank with the wrong fuel, I mean the petrol stations tanks not your own.
I don't know why or if this is possible at Morrisons.
If the garage can prove the fuel in the tank & the cctv proves the pump you used then you have no worries surely.Life is short, smile while you still have teeth0 -
Morrisons are saying that noone else has complained therefore there is nothing wrong with their fuel! I have lodged a formal complaint with their head office! We can also proove it with mileage as we just bought the car and had just collected it prior to going to morrisons to fill up!0

My diesel car has a special cap that doesn't fit a petrol pump.
If the Morrison's tank had petrol in in surely there will be other drivers in your position? Local newpaper time? I hope you get it sorted because £2000 is a lot of money." The greatest wealth is to live content with little."

Now then I topped up my Diesel in Morrisons Leeds with £30 and it started missing like a !!!!!! within a mile or so , but I filled up again locally yesterday and it has just about stopped and is running 99% Ok
I wonderd if I had had some bad fuel.
i let you know when I fill up again tomorrow, obviously locally with a named brand again.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -
Playing devil's advocate here BUT the supermarket concerned could always claim the fuel was mis-filled somewhere else and the OP is pulling a fast one, claiming it was there and not elsewhere so the call to Trading Standards was the right one...

We have been in touch with 2 local newspapers and they are looking into our story however they contacted morrisons and they have told them that trading standards have said the pump is ok! I don't see how they can when we don't have the test results yet!!!0
