    I don't resent the holiday makers, I was one myself once but loved it so much I moved here. I blame the greedy councils who charge us "tourist rates" throughout the year and don't provide decent public transport or parking. Not enough indoor entertainment either for wet days, you see families dragging poor little kids around the shops. A day at one of our "attractions" can cost a fortune. At least the beaches are free if it's sunny.

    we booked a week in august with a pool for 11 people for approx £800.
    Great value! very sad but we go every year!!
    You can book online and they will send contract etc via email
    very helpful people in the tourist board but you need to speak some french when you arrive at your gite as most gite owners don't speak much english!

    Try Ryanair for car hire we just got Peugeot 307 one way rental for 10 days. Pick up Carcassone drop off Bergerac for £173.
