Replacing car stereo

Def something ok with a £100 budget. You need to ensure that the unit is stalk control compatible, many are not. 206's can be a PITA getting the correct stalk adaptor, there are 3 different ones covering 1999 -2002.
edit. That Pioneer looks ok, nothing special but ticks the boxes for what you need.
yes re the stalk i will double check before i buy that it is control stalk compatible,0 -
A half decent website for adapters is https://www.connects2.com, there you should find a stalk adapter. Ebay is always good for these kind of things too.
If you want my 2 penneth worth. Find the head unit you want, look for Aux-in rather than bluetooth, Sony do some very good head units which can be found quite cheaply on the net, also bluetooth head units too (I'm a little biased towards Sony, I've pretty much always had them). Then its up to you if you want to replace any speakers, try it first, the ones you have might be fine for what you require, if not, then look to replace later.
I've replaced all of the sound equipment in most of the cars and vans I've ever owned, and its not that hard to do.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -

Regarding an earlier reply I think ill forget using bluetooth for streaming the music and use aux for playing the music.
Yes ill get a unit first then see what the speakers are like and if need be ill replace them, oh and ill not use credit for them although I could afford the payments.

Its handy to have bluetooth these days as then you're covered for calls whilst driving, I have a parrot kit in my car and my van and I wouldn't be without one in either.regarding an earlier reply I think ill forget using bluetooth for streaming the music and use aux for playing the music.

My car Honda Civic isn't a cheap car to get new stereo as you have to replace some of the dash too. I looked at a parrot but it was over £300 the audi shop was trying to sell me. My stereo is okay place mp3 from cd just wanted one with usb as I hate fafffing about with discs that's why I went for pure adaptor plus FM radio is naff around my area for choice, dab is much better assuming its okay on the move. I paid just over £150 and has aux inputs/usb0

That looks very good and a very reasonable price. Do get the stalk adapter ... well worth it. Do you need a facia adapter too?
I keep a selection of music on a tiny 8GB USB drive ... you can hardly tell it's there!0 -
I need to do a little research to find 1 thats compatible with android phones but does that matter if im connecting the phone to teh unit via the aux connection.0
