Getting Married Abroad

my sis got married in the Dominican Republic - she said it was brilliant!
my DD and her OH honeymooned in Cuba - and the hotel specialised in weddings so they attended a couple as witnesses and said the ceremonies and the hotel were fantastic.
They also went to Slovenia to attend OHs best friends wedding - they loved it! The ceremony took place in a church on an island in the middle of a lake - the wedding party went over in two boats, and I cant quite remember if the groom had to carry the bride UP the steps to the church or DOWN them. at the reception the local aristocracy put in an appearance dressed in all their traditional finery to wish the couple good luck - my DD said Slovenia was NOT as they expected and that it (the wedding) was beautiful and almost magical! and the package was very reasonable! Thirty guests were able to attend and it WASNT that expensive!
so, dont just look for the usual places - ask the travel agent about more unusual destinations.
