Credit rating and Childrens accounts.

Hi all.

i am wondering if a parents credit rating is used when doing a credit search for their childs first bank account?

My son is almost 12 and i want to open him a bank account, but as it is i have an appalling CR (and can only get a Natwest step account for myself) i am wondering if this will make a difference?

A Childs account (Under 18), is not credit checked as there is no credit facility avaialble to under 18s. it may have an ID validation check but that is all.
