EDF Final Bill problems

I can't believe I am adding to my own post more than 12 months after it was all sorted out.

I eventually spoke to an EDF manager who cleared my bill and sent me a cheque for compensation.

Great I finished 2011 by eventually closing my account 12 months after leaving them.

    BUT BUT BUT

Here we are December 2012 and I have received a letter from a Debt Collector stating I owe EDF £350. This shocked the life out of me and my wife. And to make it worse my parents were there and saw what it said which caused lots of embarrassment and explaining.

I rang the Debt Collectors and they explained that EDF had tried to contact me on numerous occassions and had been unsuccessful.

Since the cheque at the end of 2011 I have not received any communication from EDF !!!!!

2 years after leaving they are still asking for money that a manager removed. Thanks EDF !!!!!!
  • Just spoken to EDF and they have told me my account notes confirm the account was cleared and that NO BILLS ARE TO BE SENT TO THE ACCOUNT HOLDER.

I guess their computer system has its own mind and decided to call in the collection agency !!!

Now waiting for a call back.
  • Very poor.
I would send them an email (headed complaint) and ask what they will offer you as compensation for the harassment embarassment and stress caused.by their system. You might get £25, maybe more. (Or do it on the phone if they are calling you)
