  • I had a search on Companies House website and could not find any listing for CSA so I'm wondering where Duport compiled their info from. And when I searched the Duport site for CSA I only got the address listings, not the CCJ listings.

Don't get me wrong. I would love for the CSA to be accountable and for them to suffer real penalties when they get it wrong.

  • It never ceases to amaze me how many people get caught up with the csa, both pwc's & nrp's.....this is what the government wants because it's a run for profit business. They promise pwc this amount & that, whilst screwing over the nrp. I've seen pwc going on & on about how much they are owed & seen nrp's left broken........Tell me, is this really about the kids I think not!

I became a pwc over 10 years ago, it wasn't a nice break up they seldom ever are. But I was determined that we wern't going to get caught up in the csa triangle. After all it was the kids needs not ours that were important in all of this. We agreed that we would pay 50/50 for clothes when needed, school meals & trips, pocket money & such. Whilst they were in my care I paid for everything they needed within our household & when they were with nrp the same applied. This allowed us to get on with & move on with our own lives, it stopped any resentment as I wasn't benefiting from the nrp's money which I prefer anyway. my ex doesn't owe me a living just because we have children together & it was my choice to be the pwc therefore my responsibility to provide for children whilst in my care. Even if my ex hadn't of contributed as he has, I would never dream of getting liability orders & such aginst him for child maintenance. I wouldn't degrade myself or put someone through that!

Interesting...so what were the profits last year? How do the Government make money out of it?
  • I think he means the government want the CSA to be "self sufficient" or "self-financing" like the BBC and the DVLA.

The CSA has a problem because its business is creating debts, often artificial debts against paople and collecting them. Anyone in debt recovery well tell you, monetising debt is one of the hardest things to do. HMRC deals with the whole economy and most working people can afford to pay taxes, but the CSA deals with families who are on low income and living on benefits. Its difficult to make money from people who dont have any.

The CCJs wont appear on Companies House because the register of County Court Judgements is a completely different database. Someone files an N1 naming 'child support agency' the defedant and it gets no reply, the claimant applies for judgement.
