Ok, a bit of background. I ordered a PS3 game which was released last Friday from the Game website. Come Thursday night, my order was still shows as "unshipped" and no money had been taken.
Wanting it on release day, I cancelled my order (which was confirmed via email) and went to the store to pick it up.
On Friday, as soon as I got back to the office after picking up the game I got an email to say my order had been dispatched. I immediately sent them an email querying this as I had the cancellation email and my order was showing as cancelled on the website.
Now, when I got home, the game was sitting on my mat so must have been dispatched by Thursday latest.
However, its now Tuesday and they haven't replied to my email or debited my account so can only assume I've got a free game!
Now, if I were to take this back to a game store for a refund, would they know it wasn't the same copy of the game that I bought from them?

Yes, but I'm not returning the exact same one, I opened the one I bought from the store. I want to return the one that I got through the game website (which I've not been charged for) for a refund which the receipt for the one I've opened - will they be able to tell its not the same one I bought from the store?0 -
So you want us to give you advice on how to commit fraud?0

The item that was delivered to you is not your property.
If a person or company sends you goods in error, the law is clear that the goods still belong to the sender. You have a duty to take reasonable steps to see that the goods find their way back to the owner.
In this case, emailing the company and putting the game to one side will be enough IMO - I wouldn't go to any expense, and only send it back if they provide free postage.0 -

Erm, I bought it from Game. I've sent them two emails with no reply, how long would you wait before considering it a freebie?0 -
