Toyota oil pressure

I don't understand. Increased viscosity is very likely to increase the oil pressure if it's low enough not to be limited by the pressure relief valve. It obviously won't cure pump or bearing wear but it might give the bearings an easier time. The only downside could be a slower circulation from cold but we're still talking about normal engine oil - say 15W40 or 20W50 at most.
I agree with you here.
Some people are far too quick to jump on the bandwagon for thinner oil, having misunderstood how oil works.
Too thin oil is bad for the engine, despite what the adverts tell you.
What we need is for the op to tell us the year of the car, then get an oil and filter change with the right grade and spec for the car.
edit - that's an 80's/90's engine, if it's the 4A 1587, so I would guess the thinnest oil it would like would be a 10/40 semi synthetic, but it was probably designed for a 20/50w.
Mind you Halfords have fairly good offer on 5/50 full synth at the moment.
