thought about selling our home in the uk wich is tennanted (im in australia) and just rang the managment agency to ask what we need to do and thier advice was that property prices were set to rise up to 15% this yr and to wait a bit longer. i was surprised by this so thought id pop on here to see if this had been mentioned but find out some mse's seem to think its all going to crash ?? i know also that the interest rate has just went up but thats usually to stop people spending as much.
has anything been mentioned on the news about any of this? or is it just gossip?

does that mean you think there will be a crash?
sorry if my question seems a boring or overdone but not being in the uk to see for myself is confusing when theres so much conflict in opinions and i dont get on here much now as alot of things on the board dont apply to me anymore0 -
If you look at the Poll I started this morning, people are still positive on the Property market, even after three IR increases in the past six months! What might shake confidence is that the money markets have now "priced in" another two rises by the end of June.0

where is the house? Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -

Sorry what I meant is that out 0f 100 people, 33.3 will predict rises, 33.3 will predict losses and 33.3 will predict them doing nothing at all. You will be directed to view block graphs, pie charts, comparsons to 15 years ago, somebodys Nan's tea leaves e.t.c.
You have a 1 in 3 chance of being correct.Well life is harsh, hug me don't reject me.0 -

Is it in the interest of the management company that you do not sell?0 -

I do enjoy the kind of language that property industry insiders use.
"Set to rise by up to **%" is a particular favourite of mine.
IMO investments are for the long term. So what may or may not happen in one year shouldn't be part of your strategy.0
