Might sound obvious this, but if you are going to get into arrears make sure its with your other credit, and not your mortgage. They can't reposess a house for a few months arrears on a credit card or unsecured loan. Have you thought about getting a second job yourself to help tide things over?
The best advice yet ,pay the mortgage first priority ,then your utilities, the rest talk to them.Because you need a home and heat and light and water.
Also you appear to have taken immediate action ,and keep busy with solutions ,stay positive and focused. But remember priorities your out-goings.
