I've just googled pallet stock & loads of different sites are shown.
You'll need to do your own research as to whether they are any good, I don't think that any of the business sellers will tell you who they use, if they buy pallet loads.

Lots of places. What do you want to buy pallets of?
"Bankrupt pallets" covers a lot of bases.
If you're very wealthy I'd suggest contacting all the insolvency practitioners and then you cut out lots of middle men by being offered bankrupt stocks direct from the bankrupts.
There are lots of resellers of pallets of stock, generally they'll be catalogue/store returns. You won't be able to buy a pallet of brand new iphones for £50.
So try and narrow your field down a bit, clothing, electricals, furniture, etc.

It isn't just as simple as buying a pallet of stuff for a tenner, sorting it out, selling it on Ebay and getting £1000 back for it, you need to know a lot before you can even come close to that kind of scenario.

Amen to that. A friend of mine did that for a while and the only reason it paid is because he was able to repair many of the faulty ones. Had he not been able to and had to rely on selling only the fully working ones, it wasn't worth the effort.

When I ran my own auction house we used to get a lot of pallets through and I think I've seen about every kind of pallet mix and still wouldn't like to buy them and sell them on. At an estimate 10% of the time you can strike gold (sometimes even literally!), the rest you'll be losing money or breaking even at best. It's probably more difficult now than ever as the world and his wife wants to try and earn a few extra quid.

Indeed. I have a place where I can go and buy a pallet of laptops however they're not tested and I can't even unwrap to inspect the cosmetic condition. They're between 3 to 4 years old and all you need is for a large percentage of them to have a fault common to that model and you've got a pile of scrap.

I'd rather do as I do now, pay an extra £20 or so per item and get to power it up and have a good look at it.

I used to do the live tech auctions. Best bargain was 12 17" Olivetti monitors for £12.75 all-in. One was faulty so got dropped at the local tip, 2 we kept. The other nine we sold via a single add in the local paper for £50 each.

Also bought 5 IntelliPoint Trackballs at £9 each and sold the lot at a computer fair in 35 mins. flat at £37 each.

You really have to be on the ball when it comes to buying joblots to sell-on, but you can make a profit if you are willing to risk a few quid.

I now buy untested joblots of electronics to test and resell. I have been lucky-enough to still make a decent profit on items that were fit for spares only.

Obviously the best is feeling generous ;) Make sure you check contents carefully from there though - I've had some shockers!

  • Check whether you are buying bankrupt stock or customer returns.

With customer returns you could end up with a high percentage of damaged stock which you will have to get rid of.

Buying pallets is not for the faint hearted, or anyone who can't afford to lose their money.
You're only young once, but you can be immature forever :D
