Hi
I'm using Outlook for mac 2011. Is there a way of asking that an email recipient confirms they've read the email and if so, how?
Thanks in advance

Most versions of Outlook allow you to ask for a read receipt, however, the recipient can choose whether to send it or not0

Which I always refuse to do on principle. You might as well ring up and ask. Thankfully very few people seems to use read receipt these days.No free lunch, and no free laptop0

I don't think its possible in Outlook 2011 for Mac.
Checked and it isn't, though even if it were possible, with it being so easy to decline, it is hardly a reliable feature

However, if anyone wants to ask for it

ah okay...I didn't realise you could choose not to answer. Have sent an email to someone who is notorious for not answering, she never answers her phone or texts either and I thought sending one of these would prompt her to realise it's important to get in touch.
Thanks everyone for your help :-)0 -
Just to add another option, you could always ask for a delivery receipt if it's available.
That will say it's been delivered to the persons inbox and can't (AFAIK) be avoided.:wall: Flagellation, necrophilia and bestiality - Am I flogging a dead horse? :wall:
Any posts are my opinion and only that. Please read at your own risk.0 -

That is not reliable.
Delivery receipt requests are designed for the Exchange type environment and it is the exchange server that generates the receipt.
Outside the corporate exchange environment any of the routing mail servers can and do respond to delivery receipt requests so it has no meaning. Also servers may be configured not to respond to requests. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
