There is a button I think the first one called magic bright... on the screen.

If you keep pressing it, it will cycle through monitor uses such as text, games, movies etc .... you should find the option 'text' fine for normal use.

Other options will prolly give you a headache within minutes, especially surfing and word processing :) Extra brightness given by games and movies options are fantastic for appropriate use.

At first I thought this magic bright system was a load of crap but its really useful.

on another note, what contrast and brightness settings are you using, because my eyes cannot get used to a setting yet

I bought one as well but it seems to hurt my eyes when I use it and any text on the screen seems to be alot lighter in colour. My old 17" CRT was fine.

I've set the brightness to 17 which helps a little but the text doesn't seem quite right, perhaps I just need to adjust to the widescreen style.

No LSD this is a monitor not a TV. Although at an additional cost you can get a TV tuner etc to plug into it.

I thought till now the Hans WS Monitor on amazon for £139 delivered was best deal. One of the cheaper screens with DVI available, then I found this one on morecomputers.co.uk.....
Got that for £105 in Sept 2006 (offer was originally posted here). Very pleased & no dead pixels.

I wrote a really good review but Amazon pulled it because I included the price I got it for - apparently that's against their rules! G

I'm sure I would have bought two at that price :)

Right now (looking at both their current prices) I believe this monitor is better .. even more so if morecomputers are helping out people with one dead pixel, should they get one.
