My understanding is that if you have a dropped kerb into your drive for them to overhang it is illegal0

Why not ask him to move/not to park where he's parking. Some people are so monumentally thick they don't realise that they are causing a problem. The man without a signature.0

If you have a legal dropped kerb then it's an offence to prevent your vehicle from getting onto the highway ... but my understanding of it is that it's not an offence if you can't get into your driveway. Is it blocked, or are you just bad at getting it through a gap anybody else'd get a double decker bus through?0

My neighbour always parks outside our house part way across my drive , it used to bother me as the space outside his house is always empty but I just back in at a slight angle and can get in and out ok I don't let it bother me anymore..#6 of the SKI-ers Club :j

Although yes, some people driving these:
Think they're driving one of these:
The OP has not yet indicated this to be the case

thanks, i cant get into it whatsover and i doubt anyone else could. i also cant get my friends car off the drive either and thats a smaller car than mine.
i do have a dropped kerb although im not sure if it was done legally or not as it was already dropped when we bought this place.
will ask nicely for him to move the car once ive calmed down a bit as at the moment im calling him every swear word under the sun due to being inconsiderate lol0 -

Just make life difficult for him, keep asking him to move it at inconvenient times. Like when you want to pop to the shops for 5 minutes!
AND as your "expecting", i'd have a few panic midnight (3am) rushes to hospital just to remind him that he's causing an obstruction.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

Hi sea farer wife, this also mad me soooo mad, and i dont have the pregnant hormones lol people park over my drive everyday, its so rude! when im having a partically bad day il either sit with my hand on the horn (yep mad woman lol) or wait for them to get out of the car, walk out to my car and say oh dear im about to go out can u move pls, sit wait for them to move and go back in doors!!
It cost me thousands for that dropped curb, i shouldnt have to ask people to move, and nor should u.
Good luck with the baseball bat lolReading the stories and advice on here has given me the strength to see the light at the end of the tunnel, and that light will shine bright in......

he has moved it :j i did leave a little note on his windscreen asking that he parks a little further back so i can get onto the drive. think he just parks outside mine when someone else is parked outside his house, but the horn and the 3am panic runs to the hospital will be kept for future reference lol0

Hi
My parents are currently going through the same thing, we have asked the council who said it wasn't there responsibility and the local police said they would only get involved if we wanted to get off the drive in an emergency,
We have asked nicely but unfortunately the neighbour was rude and said tough luck
I think it's disgusting you pay for a driveway and you can't even use it.
I am currently in the process of blocking him in and just not moving it even when he asks, it's a shame though as my parents have just moved into this place and it's making them question the move now.
