I've had problems using these vouchers, in the past have done so with no problem including the item specific ones from Sainsbury and Asda. BUT now it depends who is on the till, it used to be widely advertised outside the store but not know.

I guess they now have enough customers in that branch!
  • i've been buying these for a couple / few weeks now and i've never even checked the reciept but i know the shop says £3.29 i bet i've been overcharged the whole time:mad:

The lady on CS desk when checking this said that the reason I was overcharged was because it's been £3.29 before, but today the price went up for the remainder of the offer (which ends tomorrow), but for whatever reason they hadn't changed the label. Still a good idea to check your receipts, just incase it's been £3.89 for a while and I'm the first to bring it to their attention.

My tesco's extra wouldn't accept any of my vouchers for other supermarkets (the £5 ones off £? spend that are printed in the newspapers). I argued at customer services but they wouldn't back down :(((
i always ask CS desk before i do my shooping if they will accept the voucher.

give Tesco head office a ring or email them, they will ring the store to inform them of the correct policy and will usually send you a gift card :)

It is store dependant depending on if there are local stores that are close enough. Some times store take ASDA, some time Sainsburys etc all depends on which other stores are local.

sorry, but that isnt correct, it hasnt anything to do with which stores are local nor is it down to store discretion. there is a button on the tills which the SA can press which shows a list of all the conditional spend and save coupons which they accept, this includes Asda, Morrisons, Sainsburys, Waitrose, Marks and Spencer, they no longer take Lidl or Farmfoods but did used to. The store managers have discretion as to whether they take internet coupons or not but not the conditional spends,it is Tesco national policy to take competitor coupons. Quite a lot of us on the printed coupon thread have emails/letters from Tesco head office confirming this and head office have rung stores in the past to inform them that they have to take the conditional spends. quite a few of us have been sent gift cards from HO after emailing/ringing about this.

    Stop it Cryztal!!!!

You know it is wrong to post anything that is 100% correct on this forum let alone on this thread!!

Nice to see that facts pointed out for all to follow.. I just wished everyone was clear on DTD so the same questions don't get repeated.

Thanks Cryztal. Great idea. To be honest they said it was at the managers discretion and head office would say the same so I never took it any further. So do they generally accept Sainburys vouchers? The till spit ones ie £3 off a £20 spend.

Thanks for taking time to reply

This has happend to me in the past with a M&S voucher, we called head office when we got home and they said they would call the store manager and would send us a voucher for the value of our conditional spend because they do indeed accept them. I have had a few suprises in the past as I read on here that they accepted Boots vouchers, the other day I asked and she said no but then said wait a minute I will check and low and behold they did, I got a gilette razor for 49p RRP £6.98! The cashier was really suprised and thanked me for enlightening her!

Strange that there isn't a button for Waitrose or Marks and Spencer conditional spend on the tills in my local store. :(

Suppose it might be that there are none of those stores nearby.
