I've never had any probs with la redoute returns. Give it a go girl. No point having clothes you need to squeeze into - not a good look. I think their sizing is pants... French making us feel crap...0

For routine car parts try your local motor factors - (search yell.com), the part prices are usually very cheap and in the local ones I have tried the people are very happy to help with parts selection.
Wipers are easy to fit and only cost a few pounds, battery not so easy but if you have spanners or know somebody with a set it can be done in ten minutes. Just remember to remove the negative (black) connection first and refit it last.
For comparison, a Ford main dealer will charge around £75 for a new battery (plus fitting), a motor factor will sell them for £25-30. An indepedent garage will probably charge somewhere between the two.

Buy brand new and shell out several thousands - buy 2nd hand and you could end forking out hand over fist month after month. Ive learned to really investigate car history on the internet and dont impulse buy because it looks good and youve got your heart set on it.....

Will you be checking whether your neighbours have trampolines in the future as well?? !!!;) I read your thread last night, and though it is funny (it is!) it's also a real PITA I hope it all gets sorted quickly and painlessly!!0 -
Right. Good news is car is running very well - feels like it's had a tummy tuck and a face lift! All a bit 'tighter' somehow.
Bad news, when they changed the battery it (of course) reset the stereo and @@@@ed if I can find the card with the code (4 year old car.. not with sale documents..) and I suspect it costs more to get it off the dealer. Also no idea how to remove it to find info needed to get code cheap off ebay. However some people say if you stick it in the freezer it auto-resets, and sometimes it has a spell of that when it's freeezing up north, so here's hoping for a chilly Feb. If not I'm temp[ted to replavce the damn thing with a cheapy (hasn't got as CD player anyway) just to spite the evil dealers.
Been in the attic for a rummage. That was quite emotional, lookimg at all the clothes from when I was all morbidly obese.. made me determined never to go there again, so if nothing else, it's going to help the eating plan! I foirgot how damn frumpy big clothes are for work suits etc... very matronly. And I wasn't even 30!!!!
I found some matching sarongs and swimsuit sets in sizes that'll do; some giganta-trousers which have drawstrings waists, will see what they are like once washed, a dress, and 2 of those crinkly one-size-is-huge skirts. So that was almost everything. I also found a stash of bright coloured scarves which will help my work wardrobe atm, having gone for all black for travelling clothes because everything matches!
I did give in and buy a couple of additions. But they come to less than the £80 redoute rebate.
1) A drop dead scarlet dress in Monsoon sale, £20, I tried it on and it made me go "gosh!" which, as big girls will know, is not a common thing for us to do!
2) Having faffed about for ages over sarongs and their inability to cover bottoms on the walk from the hotel room to the pool (are ok for covering arms and legs once you get there!) I got a lightweifht cotton waffle style robe from Matalans for a tenner. It'll do me for travelling in the UK too.
So, just a heap of stuff to go through the washing machine and I think I'm there...
I'll bne glad when it's next Saturday!Debt free 4th April 2007.
New house. Bigger mortgage. MFWB after I have my buffer cash in place.0
