  • £400. The reason they have opened the claim because the postage was late , that's whats I meant in the first post. They received it as described on the description, so
How can they say they haven't revived as described if in every message they say it's because the delivery got there late. They haven't desputed that the item isn't as described. I've even confirmed in the message the item is as described and they go back to the late delivery stuff

Even though you've done nothing wrong, I would suggest that you agree to the return and refund your buyer. (not the return postage costs).
As Soolin stated, in the very large majority of SNAD cases, Paypal will automatically find in the buyers favour, and if the buyer thinks that you aren't going to refund voluntarily they may well damage the goods and submit a photo to paypal as part of the dispute and you will have to refund and end up with damaged and possibly a worthless item.

All they will have to do is to state that they didn't discover the damage at first as they didn't give the item a thorough inspection and paypal will almost certainly accept their word on this.

Ask them to return the item & say that you will refund on return, as if they've opened a SNAD then they'll no doubt win it.

I don't agree that you've done nothing wrong. Any item of that value is either courier or Special Delivery. Both offer next day or 48hr delivery.
Sounds to me as if they are looking for a bit of refund.

Just ask them to return the item tracked, and you'll refund them the initial cost and initial postage.

As the dispute is for item not as described, then they'll be asked to send it back tracked at their own cost.
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)
  • Fair enough. Well unfair enough anyways. I've got the specific item manufacturing number, so least I know of I don't get the exact one back.

    Thanks for your help everyone.
  • If they said the issue was late delivery and not really an SNAD in an ebay message could you point this out to paypal?
  • I thought as a seller I don't stand a chance even if I said it was going to be late? Neither Ebay or paypal are helping me

Did you offer any recompense for it being late? Just telling people isn't enough. You gave a delivery time and then failed to fulfill it.

They may have needed the item for a deadline of their own, by failing to meet your own postage timespan they may feel you have failed to keep your end of the deal and now have an item no longer needed. You are in the wrong so should take most of the blame for this and refund, you even admit to posting it late so you can't blame the courier.
