I'm on a 300 minutes, unlimited texts and 500mb data package with free 1gb bt openzone on Vodafone using a HTC Wildfire S.
A few questions as I'm getting in a bit of a pickle regarding internet access.
1. Is BT Openzone the same as BT Fon ?

2. By turning on the Wifi setting does this use up my data usage ?

3 I have the BT FON app and connect through this app and this takes me to BT Fon info page showing that I'm logged onto BT Fon.
I click the launch browser button which takes me back to the BT FON info page. I then go back to my phone's display screen and press the internet tab and start surfing the net. Am I right in thinking I am now not using up my 500mb data usage ?
Sorry if this sounds vague but I'm a newbie to these new fangled devices.

No idea if BT openzone and BT fon are same or not.

But what you are doing is simply picking up hotspot wifi connections in your are and browsing their homepages - which anyone can do with wifi access. But that is all the access you have to them unless your contract tariff specifically allows use of BT hotspot wifi.

To have access to hotspots - you would need to be signed up to BT https://www.bt.com/wifi/secure/index.do?s_cid=con_FURL_btfon

And then you are going back to your home screen and using Internet (which is using your data allowance).

In short I don't think you have access to hotspots and you need to turn wifi off unless you have your own wifi setup in the home.

Sorted the problem now. Dumped the app for BT Fon and back on Openzone
