Beware: SOME Lidl stuff is considerably more expensive than e.g. Tesco. Shopping around ensures the best deal.

The biggest down side with Lidl and Aldi is hey don't take credit cards. I like to charge everything and get cashback on my cards. LIDL only take debit or cash, so I have to pay straight away.

Sorry but Lidl and Aldi DO accept credit cards, have been using mine for many months now.

They don't accept CC's, here, in N.Ireland. Just debit or cash in the stores here.

my family will put a vote in for their big fat tins of ravioli in bolognaise sauce. 58p. 3 tins between 6 [2 adults 4 teenage boys] is filling, quick and cheap. also we got our goose there this year. free range from germany for 11.99 fed 6 for xmas dinner comfortably
  • I will add my vote for Lidl as well.

The juices, like grape and pear, are great and not something you can find in Tesco.

As others have said, the yoghurt selection is great as is the cheese!!

Wouldn't buy EVERYTHING from there but well worth a gander and a little bit of your hard earned cash (which will obviously go a long way). :o
How long til pay day?

Last night we tried the Salmon, 2 peices for £1.99 !!!
well it was the nicest salmon Ive ever had in my life, my husband said we must go back and get more of that.
Its amazing , the big chicken for £1.49 has totally shocked me.
I was already watching the pennies shopping at tescos but now Im going to be saving even more money.....we worked out we usually spend £50 - £60
a week on 2 adults, 2 children and 1 dog. But now it will be £30 - £40 a week.
so £20 a week is something to be happy about and with selling about £20 a week on ebay....yippee!!!
    Kindness costs nothing :)

DH has e-mailed to say he is just back from Lidl with all the half price veg, salad, fruit etc we will need for the next few days. We haven't really ever had an issue about it keeping OK. We occasionally have to throw out the tail end of a whole cucumber but that is after we have had it in the fridge for about a fortnight (and forgotten to give treats to the hamster!).
