I am thinking of Adding a boot light to my mk4 polo.
Anybody any tips? I'm finding it hard to find any diy kits.

We use push top led lights in our Aygo about £1 each. Fitting a proper light is a faff.0

Fitting a proper light is easy, Cutting the roof panel takes a steady hand and some nerves though
knowing if you get it wrong it will be very difficult and maybe expensive to replace.
Or sell it to a builder or odd job man that will trash the interior anyway.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
Fitted a boot light to my Vectra (the standard one is crap), I got a pair of cheap white DRL (daytime running light) lights from Ebay (£12), mounted one to the underside of the parcel shelf, fed the wiring down the side of the boot lining and soldered it to the original boot light with a couple of crimp connectors in case I ever need to remove the parcel shelf. Just have to be careful not to leave anything that could ever short circuit else it'll take out a fuse.
Five minute job and the result with an 18 LED DRL in the boot is a darn sight better than anything you'd pick up in the shops.
The only thing I did which was more of a "nice to have", was I used glass frosting spray (which I already owned) to diffuse the cover of the DRL to make the light disperse better rather than being quite directional.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

With no disrespect if the OP is capable of doing this work surely he can figure what to use?, and wire it either off the rear lights or from a live feed for "permanently independant" light. :AI like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0
