Redemption how does it work?

I have seen the following deal

With Samsung Galaxi with effective cost of £9.63 for 18m contract.

I am still confusing how do they actually work >
Does it mean line rental of $20,42 and claim it back for 10m where the bill is et up fpr £0.99 ?

Any though ?
WHere is the pitfall with this contract ?

Actually, usually in 5 sparts throughout the contract starting at (so-called) month 6.
